Massachusetts Plan G rate history
The most comprehensive plan still open to new enrollees. This page tracks what Plan G carriers have filed with the Massachusetts insurance regulator and what those filings show about renewal increases.
Massachusetts uses its own plan set
Massachusetts does not standardize Medicare Supplement coverage using the federal A–N letters, so “Plan G” does not name a product sold here. Treat this page as background on the federal plan, not as a Massachusetts shopping guide. See the Massachusetts overview.
What Plan G costs in Massachusetts
No filing on record yet for this plan and state.
We do not publish a premium range until at least two carriers’ figures have been matched to their filings. A range built from one filing is not a range, and a single figure invites you to read it as the market.

Filed rate actions
A rate action is the increase a carrier asked the state to approve on an existing block of Plan G policies. It is separate from the age increase built into an attained-age premium, and it is the number that tells you how a carrier has treated the people already holding the policy.

Rates and approved increases change. Past rate increases do not predict future increases. Verify current pricing with the carrier or the issuing state's insurance department before making a decision.
Why there are no premiums on this page yet
We publish a premium or a rate increase only after we have found the carrier’s filing in the state’s public records and linked to it on the page. Until that check is done for this plan and state, we show you the structure of what we track and leave the numbers off. A number without a source is worse than no number.
What Plan G covers
Plan G covers everything Plan F covers except the Part B deductible, which you pay once a year. It is the plan most people compare first, and the one with the deepest, most competitive set of filings in nearly every state — which is what makes its rate history the clearest read on how a carrier behaves over time.
With Plan G, you still pay:
- The Part B annual deductible
Benefits are standardized by federal law, so Plan G from one carrier pays the same claims as Plan G from another. Price, rate-increase history and service are what differ. That is the whole argument for reading filings.
Switching Plan G carriers in Massachusetts
Massachusetts does not use the federal plan letters. It has its own standardised plan set, so plan-letter comparisons drawn from other states do not describe what is sold here.
